Manual Handling is the “transporting or supporting of a load by one or more employees and include lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving a load,
which by reason of its characteristics or of unfavourable ergonomic conditions involves risks, particularly of back injury to employees.”

Legal Requirements:
      
The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 (effective 1st September) reaffirms the
responsibilities of employers to ensure staff are properly trained to carry out their work.
Courts have awarded up to €375,000 for soft tissue injuries caused by untrained lifting.

Responder Training have developed this course to ensure compliance with current HSA guidelines for Manual Handling.

This course is structured to give the trainee a good knowledge of manual handling principles and practice with emphasis on lifts that are conducted in the workplace.
      
      
Target Audience:
      
Whether you lift Needles or Anchors, Manual Handling is a Training requirement for all employees.
      
Course Content:
Structure and Function of Human Spine, Ergonomics, Risk of Inefficient Movement, How to Avoid Injury, Correct Posture for Static Work, Lifting Skills — Theory & Practical, Risk Assessments & Task Redesign for Manual Handling.
      
Course Location:
Courses can be run “In House” for companies to meet their specific needs or as a “Public Course” at a location near you.

Certificate Validation:
      
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Manual Handling Certificate valid for 3 years.
      
Certificate Duration:
